IDC is an ISO-15189 accredited imaging and lab diagnostic center with 70 branches across 17 cities of Pakistan and operating for the last 17 years. IDC has been performing COVID-19 PCR tests using US-FDA approved triple target kits on latest BIORAD CFX-96 (USA) technology and has been front line in national diagnostic capacity building with NIH from start of pandemic.
After handing over the quality reports to passengers and patients, IDC should not be held responsible for administrative matters/issues, not related to IDC. Some of the passengers made their own reports without being tested at IDC and were caught after landing in Dubai, resulting in bringing bad name to IDC. We condemn their action. Frustrating for us is that we had already exposed few such culprits to airport authorities after action by FIA against them a few weeks back. Had that been taken seriously by verification using QR Code and IDC secure portal, further culprits would have not done such again.
Being a responsible diagnostic set up, we are having liaison with the UAE authorities and local carriers and recommending them to take measure for reports verification using QR code or secure online portal at the airports. It is pertinent to mention that airlines following IDC verification systems do no face any such issues.
