Message of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif on World Red Cross & Red Crescent Day

Lahore, 08 May 2026: In her messagw on World Red Cross & Red Crescent Day, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif saluted volunteers and all stakeholders of the Red Crescent, and extended her heartfelt congratulations to the movement’s partners in Pakistan and around the world for their selfless services. She said that the Red Crescent Day, themed “United in Humanity,” inspires us to unity and a belief in humanity, as this theme highlights the importance of enduring power of humanity, compassion, and solidarity. She added that in the face of climate change and natural disasters, the role of organizations like Red Crescent is of great importance, and underscored that the government is committed to establishing a strong, organized, and comprehensive system to solve public problems, as practical steps are being taken to ensure special protection of vulnerable segments of society. She noted that social volunteers play a key role on the front lines in serving humanity, and renews her commitment to working towards building a safe and strong Pakistan.
