Islamabad: An award distribution ceremony was held at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication in Islamabad on September 30, 2026, for public sector school students who completed the Huawei Summer ICT Training Program, organized under the Prime Minister’s ICT training initiative in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Pakistan.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja interacted with the students, congratulated them, and highlighted the government’s focus, under PM Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, on equipping young Pakistanis, especially girls, with digital skills for the global economy. She encouraged students to explore AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development and data science, and to share their knowledge with peers.
Top certificate recipients included Ayesha Zaib (33 certifications), Hifsa Waqas (28), Hadia Zarnab (28), Laiba Nadeem (27), Sajafah Farooq (27) and Ayesha Mujtaba (26).
The Minister praised Huawei and school administrations for providing practical, industry-relevant exposure. Ahmed Bilal Masood, CEO AI and Cloud at Huawei Pakistan, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Pakistan’s digital transformation and youth ICT talent development.
The Minister concluded by urging students to see this as the start of a longer learning journey, staying curious and applying technology to solve real-world problems.
