The Pakistan-Kuwait “Protocol Agreement 2026” has generated widespread excitement, pride, and prayers in Pakistan, reflecting strong public confidence in the armed forces. The agreement strengthens the longstanding brotherly relationship, mutual trust, and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait, while Kuwait’s decision to seek Pakistan Army support recognizes its professional reputation and combat effectiveness and enhances Pakistan’s role as a reliable international security partner. Cooperation will cover training, capacity building, border management, and other mutually agreed areas as Kuwait modernizes its military. Training will include infantry tactics, artillery, armoured warfare, aviation, special operations, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, while capacity building will improve logistics, procurement, maintenance, repair, and command-and-control systems. Pakistan will also share border-security expertise, including surveillance, patrol tactics, and intelligence sharing to counter infiltration and smuggling and protect Kuwait’s territorial integrity. The partnership can expand into additional areas as security needs evolve, while further strengthening national pride in Pakistan Army’s record of defence, stability, disaster assistance, internal crisis response, peacekeeping, and commitment to peace and security.

A Kuwaiti delegation led by Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah, including Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Khalid Daraj Saad Al-Sharian, visited Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence and met Defence Minister Khawaja Asif before visiting GHQ. These meetings established political and military consensus, clarified the strategic objectives of cooperation, aligned the partnership with both governments’ foreign-policy goals, and enabled the Kuwaiti delegation to engage directly with Pakistan Army leadership and learn about its organization, training methods, operational capabilities, facilities, equipment, and readiness. The delegation’s meeting with Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir provided strategic direction and senior-level endorsement for finalizing and implementing the agreement. The two military leaders discussed regional security, shared threats, and ways to address common challenges, while Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to high-quality, tailored training and capacity building for Kuwait. The Kuwaiti military leadership expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s hospitality and professionalism and emphasized its desire for a lasting, mutually beneficial defence partnership, with both sides committing to stronger bilateral defence ties and greater regional peace and stability.
