LONDON: The Pakistan Press Club London organized a condolence reference to pay tribute to senior journalist Shaukat Dar, who recently passed away, with participants remembering his longstanding services to journalism and his valuable contribution to the Pakistani media community.
The condolence reference was attended by members of the Pakistan Press Club London, senior journalists, prominent community leaders and distinguished personalities from different walks of life. A special Quran Khawani was held at the gathering, followed by prayers for the departed soul and the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter.
Asad Dar, son of the late Shaukat Dar, also attended the reference. Participants expressed their heartfelt condolences to him and other members of the bereaved family, sharing their grief over the loss of a respected member of the journalistic fraternity.
Among the distinguished guests were Rana Muhammad Arshad, Member of the Provincial Assembly Punjab and Chief Whip of the Punjab Assembly; Syed Kausar Kazmi, Spokesperson to the Chief Minister Punjab; Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Founder and Chairman of the Akhuwat Foundation; and Ali Nawaz Malik, Press Minister at the Pakistan High Commission in London.
President of the Pakistan Press Club London Chaudhry Tabraiz Aurah paid rich tribute to Shaukat Dar and highlighted his services and contribution to journalism. He said the late journalist had earned respect among his colleagues through his professional commitment, dedication and longstanding association with the profession.
Other participants also paid tribute to Shaukat Dar’s journalistic services and recalled his association with the media community. They expressed deep sorrow over his death and conveyed their sympathies to his family.
Speakers emphasized the importance of remembering the contributions of senior journalists who devoted their professional lives to serving journalism and keeping the community informed.
The condolence reference concluded with collective prayers for the forgiveness and Isal-e-Sawab of the departed soul. Participants prayed that Allah Almighty grant Shaukat Dar eternal peace and a high place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus, and give his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones patience and strength to bear the irreparable loss.
The gathering also reflected the solidarity of the Pakistan Press Club London and the wider Pakistani community with the bereaved family during this difficult time.
