Istanbul: The Secretary-General of the Developing-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation (D-8) met with Mr. İbrahim Zahid Altay, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Sabah and General Manager of Turkuvaz Publishing, at the Turkuvaz Media Center in Istanbul, according to a post shared on the Secretary-General’s official social media account.
The meeting focused on joint initiatives to enhance international understanding and awareness of D-8’s founding vision and the progressive evolution of practical cooperation within the framework. Both sides discussed the importance of coordinating strategic communications amid ongoing global uncertainty, stressing the need for deeper engagement among media professionals and opinion-makers across D-8 member states through regular exchanges and increased interaction.
The two leaders also agreed that leveraging digital transformation and engaging and empowering D-8 youth should remain a special focus of future efforts.
The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended during the visit and expressed hope for continued collaboration in amplifying the voice of D-8 and raising its international profile.
