ISLAMABAD – Despite the frightening challenges, several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders including filed nomination papers to participate in the upcoming general elections.

PTI’s Senior Vice President of Islamabad Region Muhammad Aamir Sheikh submitted nomination papers for the NA-47 constituency amid challenges in the wake of the high-handedness of law enforcement agencies.

Mr Sheikh lamented the haphazard submission of nomination papers, and shared two cents on incumbent authorities for allegedly failing to fulfil their constitutional responsibility of conducting free and fair elections.

As PTI’s legal woes mount, Aamir Sheikh defies odds to take part in upcoming elections as the committed party member refused to jump ship or vie independently.

He is facing several FIRs, but continue to stand with former premier as a stalwart in the political landscape, symbolizing resilience during times of coercion and adversity.

In his interaction with media persons, Mr Sheikh recalled PTI’s struggle for rule of law in the country, but decried unprecedented developments occurring before the polls.

After completion of process of filing nomination papers, scrutiny of all candidates has been started and ECP has formed appellate tribunals to hear objections against nominations filed for upcoming polls.
