Every year, July 13 is observed across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) as Kashmir Martyrs’ Day to pay tribute to the brave martyrs of 1931, whose sacrifices became the foundation of the Kashmiri people’s struggle for justice, dignity, and their fundamental rights. The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir organizes official ceremonies, seminars, rallies, and prayer gatherings to honor their memory, while people from all walks of life reaffirm their commitment to the cause of Kashmir. On this occasion, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore issues a special message, paying rich tribute to the martyrs and reaffirming the government’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In his message, he emphasizes that the sacrifices of the martyrs of July 13, 1931, continue to inspire generations of Kashmiris in their pursuit of justice, peace, and the realization of their legitimate aspirations. He calls upon the international community to play its role in supporting a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Pakistan has consistently maintained that a peaceful resolution of the dispute, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, remains essential for enduring peace in the region.
The international community also bears an important responsibility in encouraging constructive dialogue and supporting efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting respect for human rights. Peaceful engagement, mutual understanding, and diplomacy offer the most effective path toward building trust and ensuring stability for future generations.
