Iranian Ambassador Thanks Pakistan for Highest-Level Participation in Funeral of Martyred Supreme Leader

ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan H.E .Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam has expressed profound gratitude to the Government and people of Pakistan for sending a high-level delegation to attend the ceremony held in Tehran to pay homage to the Martyred Supreme Leader of Iran, Shahid Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

In a statement, the Ambassador said that, on behalf of the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he extends his deepest appreciation to Pakistan for its solidarity during this historic and solemn occasion.

The Ambassador conveyed special thanks to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, as well as other senior government officials, eminent religious scholars, political leaders, and cultural personalities who attended the funeral ceremony.

He stated that Pakistan participated in the ceremony at the highest possible level, making the Pakistani delegation both the most senior and the largest foreign delegation present at the event. According to the Ambassador, the presence of such a distinguished delegation reflected the enduring friendship, mutual respect, and deep fraternal relations between the two neighbouring Islamic countries.

The Iranian envoy said the gesture demonstrated the historic bonds and shared values that have united Iran and Pakistan through decades of cooperation, adding that the two nations have consistently stood together in times of both joy and adversity.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s participation reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations and underscored the spirit of solidarity that continues to define ties between Tehran and Islamabad.

Concluding his message, the Ambassador prayed to Almighty Allah to preserve the longstanding friendship and brotherhood between the two countries and to bless the peoples of Iran and Pakistan with lasting peace, prosperity, and dignity. He also expressed hope that bilateral relations would continue to grow stronger for generations to come.
