ISLAMABAD: Naveed Ahmad Khan, President of the Tourism Association of Pakistan, has welcomed the decision by the United Arab Emirates to ease visit visa restrictions for Pakistani nationals, calling it a positive development after months of uncertainty surrounding travel and visa processes between the two countries.
In a statement, Khan said the move would bring significant relief to thousands of Pakistani travelers, businessmen, and families who had faced difficulties in securing visit visas to the UAE in recent months. He noted that the easing of restrictions reflects the strength of the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and the UAE and reaffirms the confidence both nations continue to place in each other.
He said the decision would provide a major boost to Pakistan’s tourism and travel industry, as the UAE remains one of the most popular destinations for Pakistani tourists, business travelers, and those visiting family members residing in the Emirates. He added that easier visa access would also encourage greater business exchange, trade delegations, and people-to-people contact between the two countries.
Khan further stated that the tourism and travel sector had been affected by the uncertainty surrounding UAE visa policies, with many travel agencies and tour operators experiencing a decline in bookings and inquiries. He expressed hope that the relaxed visa regime would help restore traveler confidence and revive demand for UAE-bound travel packages.
He urged the relevant authorities in Pakistan to continue engaging with UAE counterparts to further simplify and streamline visa procedures, ensuring smoother travel experiences for Pakistani citizens. Khan also called upon travel industry stakeholders to take advantage of this positive development by promoting UAE travel packages and strengthening cooperation with UAE-based tourism partners.
