Islamabad: Huawei Pakistan and the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) have officially launched the Huawei ICT Academy at NIBAF to equip Pakistan’s financial sector professionals with globally recognized digital skills and certifications. The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, industry leaders, academia, and technology experts.
Focus on Emerging Technologies
The academy will provide advanced training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Communications, Big Data, and other emerging technologies. Participants will receive hands-on learning through Huawei’s international curriculum and certification programmes.
Leaders Highlight Workforce Development
NIBAF CEO Lubna Farooq Malik described the initiative as a milestone in preparing future-ready professionals, emphasizing that globally recognized certifications and practical skills will enhance employability in Pakistan and abroad. Huawei Pakistan’s CEO AI and Cloud Business, Ahmed Bilal Masud, said digital talent is essential for sustainable economic growth and that the partnership will help financial sector professionals compete in international markets.

The Huawei ICT Academy is part of Huawei’s global education initiative that bridges academia and industry through training, certification, digital learning resources, and innovation competitions. Building on Huawei’s existing ICT talent programmes, the new academy expands opportunities for professionals while supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation by strengthening human capital, fostering innovation, and developing a globally competitive technology workforce.
