RAWALPINDI : Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, on Tuesday, where he addressed graduating officers of the National Security and War Course, comprising participants from all three armed services.

During his address, the Field Marshal highlighted the evolving character of modern warfare and stressed the importance of strategic clarity, institutional professionalism, and adaptive leadership in addressing complex national and international security challenges. He commended the National Defence University for preparing future military and civil leaders capable of responding effectively to hybrid, conventional, and sub-conventional threats.

He said the Pakistan Armed Forces are continuously recalibrating their operational and development strategies to meet the changing nature of warfare and ensure the country’s defence preparedness.

The Army Chief also warned against state-sponsored attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilize Pakistan, saying that proxy groups and networks operating under external patronage would not be allowed to undermine the country’s internal security or economic progress.

Reaffirming the state’s determination to combat terrorism, Field Marshal Asim Munir said terrorism originating from across Pakistan’s borders would be dealt with decisively. He emphasized that the Armed Forces, with the support of the nation, would dismantle terrorist sanctuaries and their facilitators wherever they exist.

He further remarked that wars are not won through media rhetoric or political slogans but through faith, unity, discipline, and professional competence.

Expressing confidence in the professionalism, morale, and operational readiness of Pakistan’s battle-hardened Armed Forces, the Field Marshal urged the graduating officers to uphold the values of integrity, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the nation throughout their careers.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the National Defence University, the Field Marshal was received by the President of NDU.
