CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Message on World Migratory Bird Day

Lahore, 09 May 2026: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in her message on World Migratory Bird Day that beautiful and charming migratory birds are a priceless and unmatched gift of nature, as migratory birds arriving from distant lands enhance beauty of nature. She added that migratory birds play a key role in maintaining ecological balance, as they help improve soil fertility. She highlighted that protecting natural habitats is essential for conservation of migratory birds; and Punjab’s Wildlife Force is actively working to protect natural biological assets, including migratory birds.

Chief Minister Punjab noted that a crackdown is being carried out against those who illegally hunt birds, as Punjab government is taking all possible steps to ensure safe habitats for migratory birds and the survival of forests. She said that they are taking environmentally friendly, effective, and sustainable measures to address challenges faced by wildlife; and urged upon citizens to play their role in ensuring the survival of migratory birds and other forms of wild life, as birds are a beautiful heritage of nature; and protecting them is our collective duty.
