Islamabad: On May 6, 2026, a festive concert dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory was held at the Makhtumkuli National Musical and Dramatic Theater in Ashabad.
At the evening organized by the Embassy supported by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the main guests were veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, including Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, as well as heads of UN and OSCE offices.
From the stage, both everyone’s favorite front songs and lyrical compositions about hope, love for the Motherland and faith in a bright future were heard. During the concert, musicians of the Turkmen State Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Rasul Klychev, performers of the Turkmenistan State Choir and young members of children’s choirs demonstrated their talent. A special atmosphere was created by the reading of touching letters from the front and penetrating poems about the war by hosts and children.
The culmination of the evening was the performance of the legendary song “Victory Day” – in one moment the whole room was singing while standing, including an encore. The final chords drowned in lengthy ovations, becoming another confirmation that the memory of the feat of the Soviet people lives in the hearts of people and continues to unite nations and generations.
In his closing speech, the Ambassador of Russia in Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin thanked the audience and individually noted the artists who gave everyone bright and bright emotions on the eve of the sacred holiday of the Great Victory.
