CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Directs to Observe “Earth Hour” in Punjab on 28 March

Lahore, 27 March 2026: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif appealed to the people across Punjab to observe Earth Hour on 28 March. She said that on 28 March, lights will be turned off across Punjab from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. She added that collective efforts are essential to provide a safe and clean environment to the new generation. She highlighted that the purpose of Earth Hour campaign is to raise public awareness about the safe use of energy.

Chief Minister Punjab said that WWF’s efforts to include environment in its priorities are commendable, as people should actively participate in energy conservation campaign. She urged upon young people to be part of the worldwide campaign for energy conservation. Secretary Environment has been appointed as the focal person for coordination in the Earth Hour campaign, while Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb will monitor the campaign across the province.
