Muzaffarabad :The Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) will not leave the victims of Indian aggression on the Line of Control alone. KORT will use all its resources to rehabilitate and resettle the victims of the firing by the Indian occupying forces on the Line of Control.

These views were expressed by Chaudhry Muhammad Akhtar, Chairman, KORT while addressing a reception in his honour by Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement.

Chaudhry Akhtar said that KORT has started his service journey in Azad Kashmir after the 2005 earthquake and will continue to do so with the help of philanthropists. He said that last week Indian Unprovoked aggression on innocent civilians and the destruction of their homes on the LOC was painful for us.
But KORT appealed online in the spirit of his tradition and service, and in just 36 hours we had to close the appeal because we got all the money we wanted for the rehabilitation of the LOC victims. It is a testament to how much people trust KORT.

Every citizen affected by the firing on the LOC will be provided Rs. 250,000 in cash, 25 galvanized sheets and rations per family for house construction and KORT will rebuild hospitals, schools and mosques affected by the firing.

Chaudhry Akhtar said that due to continuous travel, he has not slept for the last 40 hours and has travelled directly from UK to Islamabad and from there to Muzaffarabad to help the families affected by the LOC.

Addressing the reception, Altaf Ahmed Bhat, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, said that KORT is a shelter for the helpless and orphans. Whether it was the earthquake of 2005 or the floods of 2010, the earthquake of Mirpur or the firing of unarmed civilians on the LOC by the Indian occupying forces, KORT always put itself forward to serve the victims.

Bhat said that Chaudhry Akhtar comes from the UK to help the people of Azad Kashmir. We would like to thank them for that. Chaudhry Akhtar is doing what the government was supposed to do. Pakistan has awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz to this great son of Kashmir which is a source of joy for all of us. And we want to reassure KORT and those in charge that we will continue to work with them in every way because their mission is a great and blessed one.

Chairman J&KSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat added that, At this time it is the responsibility of all of us to help angelic human beings like Chaudhry Akhtar because he is doing such a great service in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir which is a source of pride for all of us.

Farhat Ali Mir, Additional Chief Secretary-General and Chairman CBR Azad Kashmir, said that the reception was proof that Chaudhry Akhtar was doing a great job. He said that the love shown by Altaf Ahmed Bhat with KORT is valuable to all of us.

Member Legislative Assembly and Secretary-General of PTI Abdul Majid Khan said that the services of KORT are a source of pride for the people of Kashmir and we assure Chaudhry Akhtar that PTI will continue to support him in all respects.

Shafiq Butt said that KORT has always helped the helpless and needy people in Azad Kashmir now it will also help them in every possible way.

Sardar Zulfiqar, a senior journalist and vice-chairman of the Press Foundation, said that the mission that Altaf Bhat and Chaudhry Akhtar are pursuing is a prophetic mission. Every citizen of Azad Kashmir will fully support them in their welfare work.
