Islamabad, 7th April 2021 It is ironic that inequality remains unchanged even after years of struggle and the disparity exists; where some people/communities have sustainable financial resources to have access to better health services and have better living conditions compared to the vulnerable lot. And with the emergence of COVID 19, It has not only undercut health gains but pushed more people into poverty, gender inequality, economic malfunction, social and health concerns. Health is a recognized fundamental human right.

There are individuals who are less privileged and struggle to make their living with very little daily income, they are struck by poverty, have lack of access to quality education and employment opportunities, suffer from gender inequality and have little or no access to clean water, food and health services; which ultimately leads to unavoidable illness, death and suffering. 7th April, World Health Day is a global health awareness day every year celebrated globally to work together and put efforts to make the world a fairer and healthier place for everyone.

COVID 19’s impact has even worsened the situation and living conditions of the already vulnerable families/ communities who are more exposed to virus/ diseases with minimum recovery and lack of access of quality health services.

Inspire Pakistan envisions to create awareness and bring attention of the government and general public towards health issues. With so many health challenges in the country related to water, environment, sanitation, malnutrition and pollution as well as public reproductive health; the government needs to monitor health concerns and inequities, ensuring that each and every individual in the country has access to quality health services. Today! Let us show our solidarity on this day and pledge to make the world a healthier place for ourselves and people around us.
