The government is paying special attention to boost economic activities for which cooperation of the business community is of paramount importance, he said.

The private sector should fully participate in the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme for low-cost housing projects which will generate economic activity and provide jobs amid the pandemic, he said.

Lt. Gen. (retd) Anwar Ali Hyder said this while talking to a delegation of the Islamabad Industrial Association (IIA) led by its President Tariq Sadiq.

Deputy Chairman of NAPHDA Maj. Gen (retd) Amer Aslam Khan, Omais Khattak, SVP, IIA, Muhammad Ahmed and Mohsin Khalid former Presidents ICCI, Malik Sohail Hussain, former SVP ICCI, and others were also present at the occasion.

The delegation apprised Chairman and Deputy Chairman NAPHDA about their problems including the issue of lease renewal of industrial plots and the CDA has referred the matter to NAPHDA.

They added that due to expired lease, many industrialists were not able to get bank loans or initiate new investments on which the Chairman assured renewal of leases and resolution of the outstanding problems being faced by the industrialists.

The delegation said that a new industrial estate is being developed on the ring road near Hakla Interchange where the IIA will cooperate in the construction of low-cost houses which was appreciated.

The Chairman NAPHDA was also informed about an upcoming property exhibition by ICCI in Islamabad which will be attended by the builders, developers, and representatives of the construction industry, and they would take part in the construction of low-cost houses according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
