Islamabad: (Raja Furqan Ahmed) Gilgit Baltistan is not only a place of Cultural and tourist sights but also a prominent part of literary heritage in the country. The need of the hour is to promote Literature of GB around the world and to patronise the writers of this area in a befitting manner. These things were discussed in the meeting between speaker Gilgit Baltistan Assembly Amjad Zaidi and Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letter Dr Yousuf Khushk during the visit of the speaker GB at Pakistan Academy of Letters. Speaker GB Assembly discussed the possibilities of promotion of language and literature in GB and emphasised upon the role of PAL in this regard.
Dr Yousuf Khushk Chairman PAL assured the speaker that Academy would take concrete measures to patronise and promote languages and literature of GB. In this regard, PAL had already initiated some projects which are in pipeline. The meeting took place in a cordial environment in which both parties reiterated the importance of promoting Literature throughout the country. The speaker GB also lauded the efforts of incumbent Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters Dr Yousuf Khushk who continues his work with dedication and commitment despite the threat of Pandemic.
