Global Travel Demand Resilient, Middle East-Africa Spending to Grow 47.7% by 2030: ATM 2026 Research

Date:

Spokesman Report

DUBAI: The global travel industry is entering a new growth phase, with research from ATM 2026 Official Partners STR and Euromonitor International showing demand remains resilient despite Middle East challenges this year.

Euromonitor forecasts travel spending across Middle East and Africa will rise 47.7% between 2025 and 2030, adding over US$50 billion to the regional economy. Global travel expenditure has already exceeded pre-pandemic levels and is outpacing GDP growth in many markets.

The research highlights 3 key trends:

Evolving demand: Travelers are adapting, not canceling — favoring regional trips, flexibility, and experience-led spending. Digital engagement is now central to the journey.

Confidence-driven recovery: As safety improves and air connectivity returns, hotel performance in key Middle East markets is expected to strengthen, led by destinations with strong infrastructure and investment.

Innovation as advantage: AI, hyper-personalization, and seamless digital experiences are becoming critical differentiators for hospitality and airlines.

Danielle Curtis, RX Global, said traveler confidence has evolved, not disappeared. Findings will be presented at ATM 2026 under the theme Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology.
