The award was presented during a prestigious ceremony held in Tashkent to mark Press and Mass Media Workers’ Day, celebrated annually on June 27. The event recognized outstanding journalists for their contributions to promoting quality journalism and international media cooperation.

Muhammad Abbas Khan, who serves as the permanently accredited correspondent of Daily Ittehad Media Group in Uzbekistan, was honoured for his years of objective, comprehensive, and analytical reporting on the country’s democratic, political, economic, and social reforms. His work has highlighted Uzbekistan’s international initiatives, regional cooperation efforts, and sustainable development agenda, while strengthening understanding and friendship between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

A significant milestone in his journalistic career was the publication of his Urdu-language book, “Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance Concept of the Future,” in 2025. The book provides an in-depth analysis of Uzbekistan’s reform agenda, emphasizing science, education, innovation, and human capital as the foundation of the country’s development. Over the years, Khan has authored numerous analytical articles, interviews, and reports covering Uzbekistan’s political developments, economic reforms, investment opportunities, trade relations, transport and communication projects, tourism, cultural exchanges, regional security, and sustainable development.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan congratulated Muhammad Abbas Khan on receiving the prestigious Golden Pen National Award, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his distinguished journalistic services and valuable contribution to promoting objective reporting and stronger information cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The Embassy also wished him continued success in further strengthening the longstanding friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
