Pakistani Dutch Christian Community Protests in Groningen Over Forced Conversion and Child Marriage in Pakistan

Date:

News Desk

Groningen, Netherlands :The Pakistani Dutch Christian Community protested in Groningen against the ongoing abduction, forced conversion, and child marriage of Christian and Hindu minor girls in Pakistan. Organized by Ilyas Bhatti and Zeeshan Nadeem, the demonstration called for international intervention regarding the controversial court ruling of 12-year-old Maria Shahbaz, who was allegedly abducted, forced to convert to Islam, and married off. Protesters demanded Pakistan enforce child protection laws equally, return victimized girls to their families, and reverse the Shahbaz ruling. They also urged the Dutch government and EU to pressure Pakistan and review its GSP+ trade status for human rights violations, highlighting this as a widespread crisis affecting thousands of minority girls annually.
