Zafar Bakhtawari Meets British MP Naz Shah in Bradford

Bradford :Secretary General United Business Group (UBG), Zafar Bakhtawari, held a special meeting in Bradford with prominent British Member of Parliament and British-Pakistani politician, Naz Shah. He was accompanied by his brother, Abid Bakhtawari, while Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Council, Raja Najabat Hussain, and renowned journalist Asad Ali were also present at the meeting.
The meeting took place in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere, where topics of mutual interest were discussed, including the role of overseas Pakistanis, and trade, economic, cultural, and social relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, along with prospects for future cooperation.
Zafar Bakhtawari paid tribute to Naz Shah for her social services, especially her exemplary struggle for women and the Pakistani community in British politics. He stated that the Pakistani nation deeply respects British parliamentarians, particularly leaders like Naz Shah, who have proudly upheld the name of Pakistan in foreign lands. He added that for women to earn a distinguished position in a developed society like the UK is a great achievement, and Naz Shah’s continued success is a source of pride.
During the meeting, Zafar Bakhtawari also briefed Naz Shah on the activities of the business community in Pakistan, initiatives being taken under the UBG platform, and ongoing efforts to promote investment. Both leaders agreed that the role of overseas Pakistanis is crucial in strengthening bilateral relations and emphasized the need to further harness their talents and capabilities.
Naz Shah appreciated Zafar Bakhtawari’s efforts and expressed interest in establishing stronger trade, educational, and social links with Pakistan. She noted that overseas Pakistanis, particularly the business community, are a valuable asset for Pakistan, whose experience and global connections can benefit the country.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to maintain ongoing contact and enhance cooperation on potential joint initiatives in the future.
