Calgary, Canada :Malik Sohail Hussain, Chairman Coordination of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), held a significant meeting with Calgary Economic Development (CED) on Thursday, July 18, 2024. The meeting, led by Ms. Shona Reilly, Director Trade at CED, aimed to explore and enhance economic ties between Pakistan and Canada. Green Pakistan Initiative: Malik highlighted opportunities for Canadian businesses in renewable energy and green technology projects under the Green Pakistan Initiative. Tourism Sector: Pakistan’s cultural heritage & landscapes were presented as prime attractions for Canadian tourists and investors, with opportunities in hotels, resorts, and travel services mainly Trekking in Himalayan Range. Mines and Minerals: Mr. Malik invited Canadian companies to explore investment in Pakistan’s rich mineral resources, including coal, gold, and copper. Security and Stability: Addressing security concerns, Malik Sohail introduced the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), ensuring a secure environment for investors. Pink Salt and Rice: He briefed that there is a lot of potential which can be explored with export of Pink Salt and Basmati rice.
