LAHORE: Riding the wave of its popularity in Karachi, Lahoris opened their arms (and stomachs) for the arrival of the International House of Pancakes (IHOP).

IHOP-brandedbuses rolled through Lahore’s busy streets while banners dotting the skies called out to the city’s enthusiastic foodies.  Gerry’s Group was plseased to welcome members of the U.S. Mission in Pakistan, whose Commercial Servicefirst introduced it to IHOP in 2020. The inauguration included ribbon cutting, speechesand mouthwatering treats, making an already great moment all the sweeter.  The celebration continued into the day as diplomats, bloggers, influencers, and prominent members of the business community came to enjoy Lahore’s newest delicacies.

During the ceremony Mr. Arshad Wali Mohammad, Group Director for Gerry’s observed that Pakistanis have a very versatile palette and, IHOP pancakes are loved by diners of all ages.He further added that soon even more cities in Pakistan will have the chance to “tastehappiness”.

On hand for this occasion was William Makaneole, U.S. Consul General in Lahore, who mentioned in his speech that “IHOP’s arrival adds another bright spot to the Lahori food scene and,I’m sure the residents of this beautiful city are glad they’ll be able to enjoy IHOP’s famous pancakes and other treats.”

John Coronado, Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad added thathis office was“pleased to see the globally recognized IHOP brand grow its presence in the country, noting that the U.S. Commercial Service stands ready to encourage further partnerships between U.S. and Pakistani businesses”.  He added that partnerships such as the one between IHOP and Gerry’s not only brings increased options for consumers, they also support employment opportunities for young Pakistanis and further strengthen our countries’ bilateral trade relations.
