Islamabad (May 28, 2021): Mohammad Zahid Shah, Vice President, Mirza Abdul Rehman, Coordinator, Capital Office, Sartaj Ahmad Khan, Coordinator, FPCCI, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Office, expressed their sorrow over the operation against traders in Bannu. Declaring Bannu’s business community an economic murder, the government and the administration should cooperate as patrons of the business community and not take away their jobs and demolish shops.
The Federation of Pakistan chamber of Commerce and Industry strongly condemns this move and demands from the government that Compensation should be given to those whose shops have been demolished in the name of so-called operation and the chamber office should be reopened immediately.
It is the need of time for the government to patronize the business community but instead of patronizing it, there is uproar. On the other hand, the Bannu administration is snatching jobs and businesses from the people and demolishing their shops. Mohammad Zahid Shah blamed the government’s mistreatment of the Bannu business community, demolishing shops without notice and locking the chamber’s office. Condemned in strong words here, he said in a joint statement that the business community across the country and especially in the backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had cooperated fully with the government in Covid 19 and the government rewarded this cooperation in response as demolition of business community shops and locking of chambers.
He demanded the government to immediately compensate the losses of the business community of Bannu, rebuild the shops with the financial support of the business community of Bannu and immediately open the office of the chamber. He said in a joint statement that the first trader was facing financial difficulties due to Covid 19. On the other hand, the management had demolished the shops and forced them to commit suicide. Such illegal activities should be stopped immediately, he added.
