ISLAMABAD:President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari has highly appreciated the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) decision to establish the country’s largest IT Park in Islamabad. In a statement here on Monday he said that the landmark decision is indeed a manifestation of a significant stride-forward for Pakistan’s expanding tech landscape and promising unparalleled opportunities for innovation and progress. He said that the mega project covering an area of 3.3 acres to be built in the G-10 Sector of the federal capital will hopefully be a hub of technological advancement and array of facilities to foster creativity and entrepreneurship.
The ICCI President praised that the gigantic project, to work under public- private partnership, will have immense attraction for country’s burgeoning freelance economy, will have a research center, a well-stocked library, software houses, conference rooms, dedicated work spaces for freelancers and start ups and an exhibition area for showcasing cutting-edge IT products. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari further said that the project will not only create business opportunities for young entrepreneurs but will turn a big source of foreign exchange earnings for the country.
The President said the construction of an IT Park of such a paramount importance in Islamabad was the long-standing demand of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and that the business community whole heartedly welcomes the initiative and assures that every possible cooperation will be extended for the materialisation of the project. He also expressed the hope that Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be taken on board at all the stages for the benefit of the business community and making the project a state of the art in real sense.
