TASHKENT:Uzbekistan, being the most populous republic of Central Asia, has a huge human potential. Almost a third of the population of the country are children under 18 years old, 24 percent are young people aged 18 to 30 years. Ensuring the legal rights and interests of young people is one of the priorities of state policy.
Аt the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, practical steps were taken in the state youth policy to fully support the young. In particular, three laws, dozens of decrees, resolutions and orders of the head of state and government decisions have been adopted.
In particular, on June 30, 2017, at the congress of the Kamolot movement with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was decided to transform the structure into the Youth Union of Uzbekistan. Now this day in Uzbekistan is widely celebrated as Youth Day.
Among the main activities of the created youth organization, in particular, the protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of young people, the creation of decent conditions for the acquisition of modern professions by young men and girls, employment, development of their business abilities, wide involvement in entrepreneurship, stimulation of initiatives, assistance in the realization of intellectual and creative potential, the organization of targeted work to provide material and moral support to young families, young people with disabilities and in need of social protection, the creation of decent housing and social conditions for them.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan pays considerable attention to the creation of modern conditions and opportunities for young people to be healthy and educated, serve for the benefit of the people and the prosperity of the Motherland, which has modern knowledge, professions, information technologies. In this connection, at present in Uzbekistan, the organization of meaningful leisure for young people is an urgent issue.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan put forward 5 important initiatives on youth policy of historical significance, organizing work in the social, spiritual and educational spheres based on the new system:
- Increasing the interest of young people in music, arts, literature, theater and other types of art; 2. Enroll youth with sports, create the necessary conditions for this; 3. The organization of effective use of computer technologies and the Internet by the population and young people; 4. Enhancing the spirituality of young people, a wider propaganda of reading; 5. Ensuring the employment of women.
Generally speaking, the idea of ShavkatMirziyoyev was met with great interest both by the people as a whole and by the youth, and in a short time it spread widely throughout the country. On the way of education for young people and becoming full-fledged people, Uzbekistan is making every effort and opportunity. Uzbekistan considers the youth layer, which is recognized as an active layer of society, not as a “problem”, but as a huge force capable of ensuring the country’s prosperity, as a strategic resource of the state.
