Respected Editor,
I wanted to highlight the urgent need to increase youth involvement in politics. Nowadays, young individuals are not just future leaders but also essential contributors in the present. Unfortunately, their engagement in political affairs is significantly low, which could
hinder societal progress and sustainability.
Young people bring innovative ideas, distinct viewpoints, and a deep understanding of contemporary challenges like climate change and social justice.
However, many feel disconnected from the political system, perceiving it as
detached from their everyday experiences. This sense of disconnection, influenced by inadequate political education, limited resources, and a perceived gap between them and political entities, often leads to disinterest.
To address these obstacles effectively,it is crucial to incorporate civic education into school curricula, establish platforms for youth voices, and actively promote young leaders within political spheres.
I urge our leaders and society to recognize the value of youth engagement and take meaningful steps to involve them in politics, ensuring a more inclusive and dynamic political landscape.
