Chinese Investors keen to invest in mining & Power sector

Islamabad  : A delegation of Chinese investors called on Qurban Ali Head of FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad, Mirza Abdul Rehman Coordinator. Chinese investors expressed their desire to invest in Mines and Minerals Sector and small power projects. Pakistan has broad investment potential in the fields of mines and minerals, hydropower, agriculture, tourism, construction and industry. Foreign investors should take advantage of these opportunities, and FPCCI will facilitat them, assurance by Qurban Ali and Mirza Abdul Rehman. According to details, a delegation of investors from Sichuan Province of China met Head Qurban Ali and Coordinator Mirza Abdul Rehman at the FPCCI Capital Office. The delegation included Mr. Li qi, Mr. Ma Xiao Ping, Mr. Zhao Wen Guang and a lady investor Miss. Liu Ping. Mushtaq Hussain of Gilgit Chamber was also present at the occasion.

Talking during the meeting, Qurban Ali Head FPCCI Capital Office thanked the delegation and said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is stronger than steel. Trade and investment will further strengthen our bilateral ties. FPCCI will provide all kinds of assistance, including providing information to investors in every sector. We will provide full support to investors and traders. He said that many Chinese groups are investing in Pakistan. There are many projects of Mines and Minerals, Tourism, Construction, Hydropower which are also being given special attention by the government. He said that the friendly relationship between Pakistan and China is like a soul and a body.

The FPCCI is trying to bring both Pakistani and Chinese businessmen closer to each other. Talking on the occasion, Mirza Abdul Rehman, Coordinator, FPCCI Capital Office, said that Pakistan is a fast growing country with vast investment opportunities and there is consistency in Pakistan’s investment policy. FPCCI is playing its full role in promoting investment in Pakistan. He said that CPEC project from China is a great gift for the people and business community of Pakistan. Domestic and foreign investors are taking special interest in the CPEC project and its related economic zones. We are trying to bring the business community of the two countries closer together.

The leader of delegation thanked Qurban Ali and Mirza Abdul Rehman and expressed his desire to invest in Mines and Minerals and 10 to 25 MW power projects. “Our company has been working in the granite and marble sector and the power sector,” he said. He said that Sichuan Group also has an office in Islamabad which has investors from various companies whose companies are working in various fields in Pakistan. The two countries are committed in further improving trade relations and we hope that in the future there will be substantial growth in bilateral trade between the two countries, he added.
