To plan renting digital trucks in Washington and New York

Washington, D.C:A planning session to chart out the next action plan for Kashmir was held at Bamian Restaurant, Falls Church. Virginia – Suburban of Washington Metropolitan area. Those who attended the meeting included: Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman, World Forum for Peace & Justice; Sardar Zarif Khan, Advisor to the President of Azad Kashmir; Raja Liaqat Kiyani, President, Kashmir House, Maryland; Sardar Zubair Khan, Director, community Affairs, Voice of Justice in Kashmir; Sardar Shoaib Irshad, General Secretary, Kashmir American Welfare Association (KAWA) and Sardar Aftab Roshan Khan, prominent community leader in Washington metropolitan area.

Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai said perhaps the most important and poignant aspect of the situation in Kashmir is uncertainty, unpredictability, and anxiety of unknown and the impact on ordinary people whose lives have been shaped by instability and insecurity. Fai emphasized the role of diaspora in highlighting and bringing in focus the gross human rights abuse and denial of the right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir. The peaceful resolution of longstanding Kashmir dispute will guarantee durable peace and stability in the region of South Asia, Dr. Fai maintained.

Sardar Zarif Khan said that the people of Indian occupied Kashmir have given unprecedented sacrifices, and our responsibility is not to let them down. He suggested to organize two events in nearest future: one on August 5, 2025, to commemorate the day when India abrogated Article 370 and 35A, and second to observe August 13, 2025, as the United Nations Day when the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP) adopted resolution on August 13, 1948.

Sardar Shoaib Irshad said that Kashmiri Americans are positioned at one of the most important capitals of the world – Washington, DC. He explained that the UNCIP was established by the UN Security Council to help settle the Kashmir dispute and the United States as a leading member of the UNCIP adhered to the stand that the people of Kashmir should be given the right of self-determination.

Raja Liaqat Kiyani suggested to rent the digital trucks on August 5 in Washington, D.C. and on August 13 in New York to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Sardar Zubair Khan said that he will be visiting Azad Kashmir soon. While in Azad Kashmir he will discuss with Sardar Zulfiqar Roshan Khan and Professor Waris Ali a plan to organize an International Kashmir Conference either in Muzaffarabad or in Islamabad.
Sardar Aftab Roshan Khan suggested that we must make preparation to have an impressive peaceful protest in front of the United Nations in September 2025.
