In commemoration of Human Rights Day; Inspire Pakistan marked the “Day” by organizing an online International Conferencelamabad – “The ratification of international human rights instruments and the provision of human rights in the constitution of Pakistan will never be enough unless the people of Pakistan are educated on their rights that are not only enshrined in the international documents, the constitution of Pakistan; but are also upheld by Islam through the noble Quran and the traditions of the holy prophet PBUH,” said Mr Qaiser M. Siddiqui (Co-Founder & CEO Inspire Pakistan) at the international conference on human rights held online on the 10th December in showing solidarity with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In commemoration of Human Rights Day; Inspire Pakistan marked the “Day” by organizing an online International Conference held in the first half of 10th December 2020 to discuss and deal with human rights issues. It was organized under the theme “Protecting the communities recover better by standing up for human rights”, where Ms. Judit Demjen (Advisor – GIZ) participated as a keynote speaker. Mr. Peter Janssen (Assistant Representative Protection – UNHCR), Ms. Cat Carter (Head of Humanitarian Child Safeguarding), Ms. Sadia (Development Consultant), Mr. Liaqat Banori (Chairman – SHARP) and Mr. Qaiser M. Siddiqui (Co-Founder & CEO Inspire Pakistan) were the honorary guest speakers. The conference was attended by UN personnel, NGOs, educational institutions, the civil society and Afghan refugee and Pakistani youth.

The conference highlighted that the post COVID-19 situation would demand revering while respecting human rights. The world has seen a rise in human rights violation that have inflamed inequalities, discrimination, abuse, poverty, sexual exploitation and lack of protection especially for the vulnerable i.e. women and children. In order to transform Pakistan into a resilient and just nation, it is the duty of every individual to know their rights and sensitize their families and communities, where the voices of the vulnerable are heard, where those infringing and violating rights are held accountable.

Inspire Pakistan- a Human Rights based organization’s mandate is to bolster transformative actions through sensitizing communities, promoting human rights to contribute towards the drive for sustainable development. We congratulate the world on the UN general assembly’s 72nd anniversary for its adoption of UDHR and stand together alongside the government of Pakistan in the struggle for making the world a better place where there is equality and justice is served for the people today as well as for our future generations.
