Navera Iqbal

Stepping into the realm of the Huawei ICT Competition was like opening a door to a world where innovation knows no boundaries.

Greetings everyone, this is Navera Iqbal Ambassador of HUAWEI, a final year student who is currently pursuing bachelors in Telecommunication Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro which is one of the renowned educational institute of Pakistan. My journey with Huawei began with a curiosity to explore the cutting-edge facts of information and communication technology. Tech, innovation, modern era knowledge all these disciplines have always been my area of interest, however, it’s true that inspiration is necessary for all of us to accomplish significant goals and that inspiration for me was Mr. Bhaag Chand. I was greatly inspired and motivated by Mr. Chand, the Huawei ICT competition winner of 2021, when he visited our university with the team of Huawei and shared his story of struggle and success. That was the day I decided to take a stand, told myself that as a girl, I would also represent my country and my university on a global scale, and I would make everyone proud of my accomplishments.

Huawei ICT competition: Where Talent meets TechnologyGuiding students for ICT competitions involves comprehensive support from teachers. Teachers should ensure that students grasp the competition format, including its structure & evaluation criteria, and Alhamdulillah on this worry I felt immensely relieved after getting an extremely humble & gentle guide in the form of Dr. Faheem Yar khuahwer who was by my side as a mentor to guide me, teach me at every single step and the person who kept me awoke and motivated throughout my journey of learning and competing. Moreover, our teachers encouraged and taught hands-on practices, most importantly they emphasized a mindset of ongoing learning ensuring that students see the competition as part of their broader journey in the field of ICT. These were the factors which kept us to push our boundaries and to kept learning.

Now being an ambassador adds up more responsibilities on my shoulders as a representative of Huawei at my university. As a guide, I then went to multiple students and briefly discussed about Huawei’s vision I told them by joining Huawei they will join a global community of tech enthusiasts, where every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and shape the future, it’s your Launchpad to a thrilling and inspiring tech journey where your ideas can redefine what’s possible. Dare to dream, dare to compete, and discover the boundless horizons of your own capabilities with Huawei ICT, by continuously motivating them I made them to register for the competition and to showcase their talent at an extensive platform. I am now a very self-assured individual because of Huawei, and no doubt I can surely speak in front of a packed house without any fear, the clearest illustration of this is the Huawei road show that happened last month at Mehran University. The Huawei team attended, and I co-hosted the event with another member, Muhammad Shaheryar, who served as my co-host.

In addition, Huawei ICT has been an incredible journey so far that has not only helped me improve personally but also has helped me realize how important teachers are to student’s education. Since 2017, Huawei has continuously raised the bar for educational and behavioral excellence to setting high standards for technology breakthroughs, sharpen my technical abilities, the emphasis on these standards has given me a strong sense of professionalism and ethical behavior in the rapidly changing field of information and communication technology. Furthermore, the involvement of teachers has been crucial, offering mentorship that extends beyond the traditional classroom setting. The guidance and commitment to add real-world application skills has been paramount, allowing me to navigate the difficulty of the Huawei ICT Competition with confidence. Through this experience, I’ve come to appreciate the collaborative and dynamic nature of the ICT field, and it has inspired me to pass on these values to fellow students. Seeing the hard work of all the inspirational people in your community inspires you even more to accomplish great things for your nation and its citizens. With the help of my mentors, I have similar inspiration that I will not only represent my nation but also emerge victorious in the Huawei ICT competition 2023–24(Insha’Allah).

Lastly to all the passionate out there reading this,

“So, fellow enthusiasts, why wait on the sidelines? Join me in the Huawei ICT Competition, where every challenge is an opportunity, every line of code a step toward mastery, and every innovation a potential game-changer. Let’s not just dream of the future; let’s build it together. Your journey to tech excellence starts here with Huawei ICT Competition—ignite your passion, elevate your skills, and let’s shape the digital frontier hand in hand. See you at the forefront of innovation!”
