Islamabad: Minister Primary Secondary Health Care and Population Welfare Punjab Dr. Jamal Nasir has said that there are lot of opportunities of development in the tourism sector and according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, special attention is being given for the promotion of tourism in Punjab.
He said this while visiting the First International Tourism Investment Expo in Rawalpindi organized by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation and Brain Designer. Dr. Jamal Nasir said that promoting the tourism sector for economic development is the most important need of the hour. He said that bilateral relations with different countries will be strengthened the promotion of tourism. On this occasion Dr. Jamal Nasir visited handicraft and other stalls set up by the embassies of Iran, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Thailand and government departments. Taking keen interest in handicrafts, Dr. Jamal Nasir went to various stalls and appreciated their work and said that women are playing an important role in the development and economy of the country.
Earlier inaugural Ceremony of two days tourism investment Expo was held which was participated by High Commission of Malaysia Mr Azhar Mazlan High Commission of Azerbaijan Mr. Khazar Farhadov Ambassador of Royal Thai Mr. Chakkrid Krachaiwong Ambassador of Iran Mr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam Commercial Consular embassy of turkey Enes Malik CETTIN other Diplomats Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation CEO’s of Corporate Sector and prominent personalities of tourism sector. MD PTDC Mr. Aftab Ur Rehman Rana briefed about the opportunities of tourism attractions in Pakistan while addressing First Internatiinal Tourism Conference. He also elaborated initiatives adopted by the government of Pakistan for tourism expansion and said new Tourist Resorts were being developed besides upgrading existing tourist facilities.During the panel discussions about Potential of Pakistan Tourism, Role of Corporate Sector in Tourism and Hospitality Tourism and Infrastructure Development in tourism sector panelists Azim Qureshi Ms Kiran Afzal Mr. Andre Privateer Manzoor Hussain Aqeel Abbasi Mr. Maqbool Hussain Mr Waqas Qayyum Omair Khattak Yasir Hussain Qazi Bilal participated in the deliberations.
