Karachi :IBA CEIF & Sindh HEC successfully conducted the 2nd online workshop on capacity building for Academia on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 on the topic of “An Overview of Islamic Finance”. The online workshop was conducted for major public and private sector Universities of Sindh.
In the subject workshop Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui gave an overview of local and international landscape of Islamic Finance mentioning, what do we mean by Islamic Finance, why do we need it in the first place, Its brief history and its achievements.
Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed, Dean, KSBL, elaborated upon how Islam & finance are not oxymoron contrary to the popular belief. In fact, they are in congruence/sync with each other and he gave various examples from Islamic history.
The session was attended by representatives of HEC Sindh and academic representatives & faculty members of public and private sector universities from Sindh.
