ISLAMABAD: For the second consecutive year, Philip Morris International (PMI) has been honored by the CDP’s “Triple A” score, recognizing PMI’s best-in-class environmental performance and leadership in tackling climate change, as well as protecting forests and water security.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a not-for-profit organization that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. Businesses, cities, and regions from over 90 countries disclose through CDP on an annual basis. The recent CDP ranking places PMI among the top 14 companies to achieve the prestigious Triple A score and among the world’s most pioneering companies leading on environmental transparency and performance.

Andleeb (Uroos) Ahmed-Head of Communications at Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited, an affiliate of PMI, while celebrating PMI’s achievement said, “Philip Morris International has been dedicatedly working towards transforming its operations in line with global standards with the aim of protecting the environment. To achieve environmental and socio-economic sustainability, PMI, along with its subsidiaries initiated several programs and strategies targeted towards uplifting communities and environment. We hope to lead with an approach that is best for the people and our planet in the long run.”
