Islamabad: “Not all men practice violence against women but all women live with the threat of male violence every single day. All over the Earth”.  Fuad Alakbarov. Violence against women is a crime that has no forgiveness. After the tragic incidence of gang rape of a woman on motorway and other girl child rape cases reported; an uproar of anger, anxiety, fear and protection concerns in entire nation is on the verge. Violence against women still persists despite legislation where women are being raped, face acid attacks, burnt to death for bringing mere dowry and killed in the name of honour.

Inspire Pakistan firmly believes that the entire nation should come forward especially the police and the judiciary should play their part by having a proactive approach. The negative mind set of the people should be reshaped through advocacy and awareness that would promote and empower women rights. Moreover, a country where more than 45% of population constitutes women, should have the same representation as men in economy as well as employment.

Inspire Pakistan, a human rights NGO, has a working philosophy based on the protection of human rights, on the basis of equality and empowerment; the organization strives to empower women through education. We have been sensitizing the male members of communities and youth on women rights and education since our establishment and are devoted to carry the message forward through advocacy and awareness campaigns by reaching out to far-flung areas. Protection especially ‘women protection’ is one of the biggest concerns therefore Inspire Pakistan requests the government to take action and deliver justice to the rape victims as well as accelerate the process of resolving the pending gender-based violence cases.
