World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and DevelopmentIslamabad, 21st May 2021 – As the world consists of several heterogeneous societies where people have different colors, religions, races, customs, beliefs, traditions, and languages; these differences often result in conflicts and tensions. However, the gap between the cultures can be bridged and the challenges for societal cohesion can be achieved through efforts, dialogue and willingness for peace, stability as well as development.

Respect for cultural differences is deeply rooted in the concept of human rights be it either in the freedom of speech, opinion, expression, thought, religion, or conscience. Therefore, intercultural dialogue is essential in allowing every individual to fully participate in social, economic, and political situations where they could fully enjoy their fundamental human rights. COVID-19 has posed different challenges including the diminishing of cultural exchanges to the world of today. However, with that the world has transformed through the use of technology and such social digital platforms can be used to promote positivity and to celebrate cultural diversity.

“The way forward for Pakistan is by transforming cultural differences into celebrating diversity through peaceful dialogue.” Said Mr. Qaiser M. Siddiqui- CEO Inspire Pakistan on 21st May 2021- a day dedicated to cultural diversity for dialogue and peace- celebrated to promote cultural diversity that would contribute to bringing about a positive change and act as an agent of inclusion that would lead towards the development of nations. It not only provides an opportunity to experience cultural manifolds but also reflects on how it contributes to mutual respect and understanding for sustainable development.

Inspire Pakistan believes in equality and being a human rights organization that provides educational (scholarship and skill development training) opportunities to registered Afghan refugee youth (whether Tajik, Pakhtoon, Hazara, Turkman, or Uzbek) in Pakistan irrespective of their creed, race, religion and cultural differences. Here on 21st May 2021 on the occasion of Cultural inclusiveness thus promotes unity, development and prosperity among societies and Inspire Pakistan for that matter appreciates, accepts, and advocates cultural diversification among communities throughout the country.
