ISLAMABAD: Mr. & Mrs Nguyen Tien Phong, Ambassador of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and staff of the embassy with the enthusiastic participation of the kids of Vietnam arranged a special event at the embassy in connection with Muslim tradition of hosting Iftar for the poor on 29 March 2024.
Iftar dinner boxes were designed and prepared by the ladies of the embassy that were distributed among the deserving. They included women, children and laborers in general.A large number of deserving people received the dinner boxes.
The event was followed by an iftar dinner for the Embassy’slocal staff and their families. Some overseas Vietnamese’ people living in Islamabad were also invited.
The Ambassador and spouse let the distribution event while the kids of the Vietnamese families were also participating in the activity. Their spirit was worth seeing. Their smiling faces were telling the story of the feelings of their hearts that were full of happiness on helping the needy in the sacred month of the Muslims.
Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong while talking to the media at this occasion said ;
” Ramazan is observed in the Muslim world as a sacred month in which the Muslim community fast for whole day. It not only creates forbearance and sacrifice in them but also impacts their health in good manner as well. The tradition of Fasting is also found in other religions as well. This is a point where all faiths and beliefs come near to build and promote understanding about one another.”
“Embassy of Vietnam has plans to organize more and important events in the coming months in connection with people to people relations. Pakistan enjoys very cordial relations with Vietnam. Both countries are moving forward gradually to strengthen bilateral cooperation”, Ambassador concluded.
