Islamabad: Weather in Islamabad is getting colder, but it is sparkling with the diplomatic ceremonies which were recessed due to the outbreak of global pandemic. The changing weather brings the joy of resumption of diplomatic ceremonies by following he designated SOPs.
A graceful event was held by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at the embassy on the occasion of the 38th National day anniversary. Mrs. Dilsad Senol TRNC’s Representative in Islamabad and her husband Akýn Can Þenol have warmly welcomed guests.
Guest of honor Mr. Asif Hussain Memon along with Director General Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Diplomats, businessmen, and media person attended the event. Ambassador of Turkey İhsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Turkish Defence Attaché, Renowned businessman Zafar Bakhatawari were also present on the occasion. The reception was graciously organized at the official residence of the Representative with the flag of the country flying high and red illuminating all the corners of the venue. A cake-cutting ceremony after the national anthem of both countries Pakistan and TRNC was held during the ceremony.
Mrs. Dilsad Senol TRNC’s Representative in Islamabad reiterated her people’s commitment to keep their country free from aggression and pursue the course of democracy, economy, respect to social equality, human rights and independence. She expressed these views addressing a reception that marked the 38th anniversary of the National Day of the TRNC. The participants hailed organizers’ efforts to arrange an event to remember for a long time.
Our country has been at the forefront of the Eastern Mediterranean in tourism and higher education which are also two main sectors of our economy, said Dilsad Senol.
With regard to the Cyprus Problem, she said many efforts have been made in the past five decades to resolve the problem peacefully but without any result.
Despite the continuous goodwill and constructive approach shown by the Turkish Cypriot side, these efforts and numerous rounds of negotiations facilitated by the UN failed to yield any positive resul, she regretted.
