Islamabad:The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) continues to make significant strides in promoting literacy across Pakistan. A comprehensive Training of Trainers (TOT) program was conducted in different clusters of ICT urban areas: 1-8/2, Barakho, Sehala, Tarnol and Nilore on 29th and 30th of May. A total of 1433 teachers from the  ICT schools located in the mentioned areas have been trained so far in this crucial initiative under the “Each One Teaches One” campaign, which aligns with the Roshan Pakistan Literacy Drive and the directives of the Prime Minister.

The TOT program aimed to equip Teachers as trainers with the necessary skills to effectively implement the Each One Teaches One Initiative. Teachers received specialized training on a condensed literacy syllabus designed specifically for illiterate individuals. By imparting these essential skills, the NCHD aims to accelerate literacy rates and empower citizens with the ability to read, write, and access information.

During the training session at the I-8/1 cluster, the Director General of NCHD, Mirza Nasir ud Din Mashhood Ahmad, paid a visit. He expressed his appreciation for the dedication shown by the trainers and emphasized the critical role they play in transforming lives. “With such sheer commitment,” he stated, “our nation will thrive, and we will achieve the ambitious goal of 100 percent literacy within a short time.”

Director General commended the exceptional efforts of Mr. Safeerullah Khan, a Senior School Teacher (SST) at IMCB vi-x G-6/2 Islamabad. Khan’s unwavering resolve and commitment to literacy have earned him the title of “Champion of Literacy.” He serves as a role model for all educators, demonstrating the impact that dedicated teachers can have on their communities.

The NCHD extends its gratitude to the resource persons who organized this beneficial training in record time. The commitment of the trainers, combined with the support of administrative staff, ensures that Pakistan moves closer to its literacy goals. Deputy Director Literacy Mr  Tahir Zubair, Director Admin Hussain Bukhari, Siraj Ahmad HoD IT, and Hassan Abbas AD Admin accompanied Director General during his visit, reinforcing the collaborative effort to transform lives through education.

As Pakistan continues its journey toward universal literacy, initiatives like the Each One Teaches One program play a pivotal role. With dedicated trainers and champions like Mr. Safeerullah Khan, the nation is well on its way to achieving literacy for all.
