Tashkent, Uzbekistan-A delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov took part in the next 90th meeting of the CIS Economic Council, held on 18 June 2021 in Moscow.
The event was also attended by the First Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Representative of the Embassy of Moldova and Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia, Plenipotentiary Representative of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Economy and finance of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the chairman of the IC of the CIS S. Lebedev.
During the meeting, the heads of the delegations of the Commonwealth countries exchanged views on topical issues of economic interaction between the CIS countries.
In particular, the following issues were considered:on the creation of exhibition and trade centers of the CIS member states on the territory of VDNKh; the results of the implementation of the main target macroeconomic indicators of economic development of the CIS member states for 2020 and plans for priority measures for the implementation of the Concept of cooperation of the CIS member states in the energy sector and in the use of renewable energy sources were discussed;on the activities of the tax authorities of the CIS member states in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and overcoming its consequences;
on the approval of the Roadmap for the implementation of the section “Measures to minimize the negative consequences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic for the economies of the CIS member states” within the framework of the Action Plan for the implementation of the first stage (2021-2025) of the Economic Development Strategy of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030;
on the approval of the Roadmap for the development and implementation of a national program for phytomonitoring and locust pest control for the period up to 2026;
on the Framework Program of Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Field of Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy for the Period up to 2020;
on the Plan of Basic Measures for the Implementation of the Conceptual Framework for Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Field of Labor Standards for 2021–2025 and a number of other issues.
The meeting participants also discussed organizational issues, in particular, the issue of holding the next 91st meeting of the CIS Economic Council on 10 September 2021 in Moscow was considered.
Following the meeting, the participants decided to continue economic cooperation, including within the framework of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
