Islamabad— The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad hosted a grand celebration to mark Defender of the Fatherland Day, a significant occasion that honors the service and sacrifices of Russian armed forces. The event brought together diplomats, military officials, and media representatives, reinforcing the historical and strategic ties between Russia and Pakistan.

Also present were  Senator Sahar Kamran, H.E. Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan Maulvi Sardar Ahmed Shakib, Ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea H.E. Chu Changman and Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Raza Amiri-Moghdam various ambassadors, defense attachés, and senior officials, making it a momentous occasion of diplomatic engagement and mutual respect.

In 2002, February 23 was declared a national holiday in Russia, marking its importance as a day of military remembrance and patriotism.

Ambassador Albert P. Khorev, alongside Defence Attaché Colonel Vadim N. Fenchenko, Senator Sehar Kamran, and Chief Guest Vice Admiral Abdul Samad HI (M), led a ceremonial cake-cutting as a gesture of unity and shared respect.
