Rizwan Tahir completed MPhil from AIOUSenior journalist Rizwan Tahir Chohan has successfully defended his Mphil Mass Communication dissertation titled ” Effects of newspaper cartoons on political attitudes; exploring readers’ perception”. Thesis of Rizwan Tahir Chohan was examined and approved by renowned experts in the discipline of Mass Communication. He completed his Mphil from the Department of Mass Communication Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad under the supervision of Dr. Asad Munir and chairmanship of Dr. Saqib Riaz. The examination committee appreciated Rizwan Tahir Chohan’s research and declared it a significant contribution to the field of Media Research. The study revealed that newspaper cartoons are not only sensitizing the readers on political affairs and giving insight to the underlined phenomena, but also have the capability to shape the previously held political beliefs and may alter the political attitudes of readers by reshaping the image of one’s favorite politicians and leading the voting behavior. The scholar dedicated his research to his supervisor Dr. Asad Munir for his untiring dedication and mentorship.
