Tashkent :Voting in Uzbekistan’s elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils of deputies concluded today at 20:00 Tashkent time.

All polling stations have closed, and the processing of ballots has begun. Preliminary election results will be published on 28 October 2024, while final results will be announced within 10 days.

Voting is still ongoing in the United States and some countries in Europe.

The elections featured five parties: the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People — the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Democratic Party “Milliy Tiklanish,” the Ecological Party, the People’s Democratic Party, and the Social Democratic Party “Adolat.”

It is worth noting that this year’s elections were conducted for the first time using a mixed majoritarian-proportional system: out of 150 seats in the Legislative Chamber, 75 deputies will be elected from single-member districts, while the remaining 75 will be elected from a unified district based on the votes cast for political parties.
