Bahawalpur :The grand oath taking ceremony of the Student Societies of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held today at the Central Auditorium Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. On this occasion, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur administered oath to the newly appointed students and officials. In his address, he said that the aim of the student societies is to highlight the leadership abilities of the students so that they can create active members of the society by shaping the character of thousands of other students who are with them. This initiative is very good as a result of which last year 250 students in different societies fulfilled their responsibilities in a brilliant and responsible manner and played an active role in the mega events and celebrations of the university. Renowned Motivational Speaker and former Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal was the chief guest at the event who gave detailed lectures to the students on career planning and becoming active and successful citizens. Deans, Syed Tabish Alwari, Sumera Malik Member Syndicate, Director Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Deputy DSA Dr. Azhar Hussain, teachers and students in large numbers participated in the function. It may be recalled that Vice Chancellor Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob had started 11 Student Societies as soon as he took over the responsibilities of the University, whose term expired last year and Commissioner Bahawalpur Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal Certificates were distributed to the students. This evening, teachers, advisors and officials from 19 new societies took the oath of office. These societies include Recitation and Naat, Debating, Literature, Character Building, Sports, Science, Environment Protection, Fine Arts, Publication, Performing Arts, Media Society, Health and Safety, Social Welfare, Tourism Promotion, Entrepreneurship, Social Media Society. , Scout, Student Society Sub Campus Rahim Yar Khan and Student Society Sub Campus Bahawalpur Nagar.
