Islamabad: The Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Islamabad commemorated the 83rd birth anniversary of former leader Chairman Kim Jong Il at a local hotel in the capital, honoring his lifelong dedication to the prosperity of his nation and the well-being of its people.

The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including Senator Hidayat Ullah Khan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Works and Housing; Senator Jan Muhammad Buladi; Senator Amarjeet Malhotra; MNA Phelee Baloch; MPA Baz Jan Baloch from Balochistan; Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Secretary General of ANP; Ahsan Ullah Khan, Secretary Information ANP; Raiz Gul, Member CC ANP; Malik Ayub, President National Party Punjab; Noor Muhammad, President Pakistan Trade Unions Federation; Hussain, President ANP; Javed Ansari, President Pakistan-Korea Friendship & Solidarity Committee; Ambassador Khalid Mehmood, Chairman Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad; and Mubashar, Director Asia Pacific Desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, along with many other friends of North Korea.

In his address, North Korean Ambassador Choe Chang Man highlighted the legacy of Kim Jong Il, describing him as a heroic figure who made immense sacrifices for his nation. “The birth of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il was not only a great fortune for the Korean people but also a significant event in our national history,” he remarked.

Ambassador Choe emphasized Kim Jong Il’s role in strengthening the revolutionary cause of Juche and socialism, noting that February 16 is celebrated as the nation’s greatest holiday. He praised Kim Jong Il’s contributions to building a powerful socialist country and his dedication to world independence.

“The revolutionary achievements of Comrade Kim Jong Il will remain immortal. His vision laid the foundation for our nation’s strength and fostered friendly unity among independent countries,” the ambassador stated. He also underscored the continuation of Kim Jong Il’s ideology under the current leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, describing him as a “matchless great man” committed to national strength, world peace, and justice.

Ambassador Choe reiterated DPRK’s commitment to strengthening relations with Pakistan and other countries that value independence and mutual respect. “In line with Comrade Kim Jong Un’s vision, our Embassy will continue efforts to enhance cooperation between North Korea and Pakistan, fostering a long-standing relationship built on history and tradition,” he said.

He concluded by extending his best wishes for the health of Comrade Kim Jong Un and President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan, along with gratitude to all attendees for their participation in the commemorative event.
