Islamabad : The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) onThursday lauded the initiatives of Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL)to provide food to the needy during the holy month of Ramadan.
The company has started a number of charity initiatives for the deserving members of the society executed throughout the year but the holy month of Ramadan is considered the most important for the purpose.
In this connection, MPCL held an Iftar dinner at Jaffar Chowk, Meharabadi, Islamabad for five hundred people which was attended by Dr. Murtaza Mughal, Pakistan Economy Watch, as Chief Guest and Brig. (retd)Aslam Khan, Chairman Pakistan Economy Watch.
The guests expressed their pleasure at the immaculate execution of the distribution process and said that this Mari Mobile Dastarkhawan has become a symbol of hope for the deserving people of Islamabad, who are being served quality food on a daily basis.
Usman Aslam, CRS Specialist of Mari Petroleum, one of the largest petroleum exploration and production companies in Pakistan, informed that five hundred people will daily get food during the holy month while three hundred will get breakfast and dinner on daily basis after Ramadan.
Founder and CEO of Comprehensive Disaster Response Service, Todd Shea, who is implementing partner of MPCL will supervise the whole distribution process to keep it as smooth as possible.
Food packages are also being distributed among families with a number of edible items including flour, cooking oil, rice, tea, dates, spices, and other food items, they said.
They added that MPCL’s corporate social Responsibility strategy is an integral part of a company’s culture and reflects commitment to contribute towards the well-being of our workforce, local community, and society at large.
