The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday asked M/s Master Tiles Ltd to explain expenditure made on account of the wedding ceremony of the daughter.
Sources said that the tax office Gujranwala served notice to Director of M/s Master Tiles Ltd with regard to extravagant expenditure made on account of the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Sheikh Mahmood Iqbal.
Mr. Iqbal is the CEO and one of the Director of M/s Master Tiles Ltd.
Sources said that the Jurisdiction of the company M/s Master Tiles Ltd was transferred to LTO Lahore vide Board’s order on 05.08.2020, however, Jurisdiction of the said director still vests with this RTO.
Sources said that Rose Blanca Club Lahore provided catering & Food. similarly, the KSC concept given the services of Event Planners & Decoration. Mobeen Studio & Irfan Ahsan Photography, and Rahat Fathe Ali Khan & Atif Aslam were singers at this wedding.
In order to ascertain the facts regarding withholding tax deduction from above persons for the rendering of services, On payments made by the Director of Master Tiles Ltd, a notice under section 176 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 has been issued for compliance by 16.11.2020. legal action will be taken accordingly On receipt of the Information, sources added.
