Islamabad : The State of Jammu Kashmir is an indivisible political entity. The freedom, sovereignty and unity of the State of Jammu Kashmir spread over 84,471 square miles with over 22.5 million population can never be compromised. This was unanimously stated in a draft resolution issued to the media after the meeting of JKLF central convening committee members presided over by its head Khawaja Saifudin.
The meeting was held at party’s central information office and besides the leaders from Srinagar it was attended via video link by party leaders spread all over the world including Hafiz M. Anwar Samavi, Professor Raja Zafar Khan (diplomatic bureau head JKLF), Malik Latif, Saleem Haroon, Javed Hanif (secretary central convening committee), Raja Haqnawaz Khan (convener AJK-GB Zone), Sajid Siddiqi, Sabir Gul, Liaqat Lone, Sardar Zahid Hussain, Malik Mushtaq Pasha (convener Europe Zone), Tariq Sharif, Khalid Kashmiri, Dr. Ishtiaq Khan, Saleem Butt (secretary convening committee AJK-GB Zone), Waseem Akhtar Durrani (secretary convening committee Middle East Zone), Zaheer Zahid (secretary convening committee Europe Zone), Ali Asgar, Raja Ajmal, Amjad Nawaz Khan, Maroof Malik, Habib Babar and M. Rafiq Dar.
While resolving to fail the conspiracies being hatched, at national as well as at international level, against the interests of the State of Jammu Kashmir, the participants of the meeting unanimously vowed not to allow anybody to let the sacrifices rendered for the cherished cause of freedom go waste. The participants rejected any move towards the undemocratic, illegal, inhuman and illogical solution of Kashmir issue that may lead to the permanent division of the State. Any solution reached upon by the dent of force and contrary to the aspirations of the local populace and to the internationally set democratic norms and principles, is doomed to fail and prove counterproductive for the peace in the region, the spokesman added. The meeting paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri people for their unprecedented sacrifices being offered so far for the cause of freedom. The participants, in the best interest of peace in South Asia, demanded India, Pakistan and the world community to accept the right of sovereignty and independence of the State of Jammu Kashmir that has its own oldest and rich history, culture and values to follow instead of un-natural division of its people.
According to the spokesman, the participants condemned the large scale human rights violations at the hands of Indian forces in Indian held Kashmir and expressed their concern over the continued illegal arrest and deteriorating health condition of chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik and others who are languishing in Indian jails since long. They demanded revocation of concocted cases leveled against Yasin Malik and all others followed by their immediate and unconditional release.
Besides the resumption of re-organization of JKLF, the participants of the meeting decided an immediate establishment of a convening committee of the UK Zone and the completion of zonal structures at the earliest. The meeting also decided to keep doors of the negotiations open for all those party members who fell prey to misunderstandings and have reservations against November 18 supreme council decisions. In the best interest of the party and the movement, many other decisions were taken during the meeting, the statement read.
According to the party spokesman many party programs were chalked out during the meeting. On 30th March, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of Ashfaq Mjeed Wani, Shabir Siddiqi, Dr. Abdul Ahad Guroo and Adv. Jalil A. Andrabi a program will be organized in Islamabad. A memorial ceremony on the anniversary of Naeem Butt will be held at his place of Shahadat at Hajira on March 16 followed by a program at Rawlakot on 21st March and a prayer meeting at his ancestral village to be organized by his family. A seminar on the current situation of the freedom struggle will be organized on 2nd April in Karachi and a central program on the eve of the day of establishment of JKSLF will be organized by SLF on 17th April. During the month of Ramazan on 26th April and 12th May, the death anniversaries of quaid-e-Tehreek Amanullah Khan Late and Sardar Rasheed Hasrat Late respectively, prayer meetings at Aftar parties will be held in and outside the State of Jammu Kashmir. A separate program on the eve of the establishment day of JKLF, a condolence meeting in memory of Quaid-e-Tehreek will be held in Gilgit on 29th May. A similar program on the eve of the death anniversary of Adv. Sardar Aftab Ahmed will also be organized on June 4.
At the end of the meeting special and rich tributes were paid to Shaheed Dr. Farooq A. Ashaie and Zafar Sharif for the sacrifices and services rendered by them during the freedom struggle as both of them were considered as the national assets, the spokesman said. Besides these two great leaders prayers were also offered in favor of the father of UK based JKLF senior leader Mr. Ali Asgar. Special prayers were also offered for the speedy recovery of Chairman JKLF Yasin Malik sb’s defence council advocate Raja Tufail Ahmed, who after suffering brain hemorrhage last week has been hospitalized in New Delhi, the statement read.
